DIADvisor Platform Requirements

DIADvisor 2.80 requires a Windows-compatible PC.

Recommended Platform

NOTE: The use of OneRain software with Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows 98 SE is no longer supported.

Database

DIADvisor 2.70 uses the Microsoft Jet 4.0 Database Engine and will install all of the components necessary to access its Microsoft Database (.mdb) files. To work with these files directly Microsoft Access must be installed on the DIADvisor machine. This program is required with all DIADvisor installations in order to receive full technical support from OneRain- even if your software maintenance is current. DIADvisor 2.70 installs database files and support that are compatible with Access 2000 by default.

If you are currently using a previous version of DIADvisor with Access 97, your system will not be affected. Although you may continue to use Access 97 with DIADvisor 2.70, upgrading to Access 2000 is strongly encouraged and will be necessary if additional database user accounts are needed for your system. Access is a part of the Microsoft Office Professional Suite, but may also be purchased separately.

Other Platform Considerations

A DIADvisor Base Station or LAN Host is intended for 24x7 operation and should be installed on a dedicated machine. The concurrent operation of additional software not provided by or recommended by OneRain Incorporated may have unpredictable consequences.   Proper installation of system resources, device drivers and network protocols is also an essential part of a reliable system. Standard technical support for all OneRain products is limited to the function and operation of the software itself, and does not extend to issues related to configuring or maintaining other software applications or the computer environment.
